Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 5.0 / 5 from 4 reviews.

These placemats are genius! I’ve never owned or even seen anything like them before. I love that they protect my vintage wooden table from heat the same way coasters protect against hot mugs, now I don’t have to worry about plates damaging the table either. They’re incredibly versatile and have already become a staple for painting sessions and toddler playtime, and they clean up beautifully! ❤️ Even my mother-in-law commented on how unique they are. Simply goes to show how fantastic they are!

FAQ — Poppy Mats

Are these placemats easy to clean?

Yes. Poppy Mats are designed for real family life. Simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth after meals. No washing, no ironing, no waiting for them to dry.

Can they go in the dishwasher or washing machine?

No — and they don’t need to. These placemats are made to be wiped clean in seconds. To keep them looking their best, avoid soaking, dishwashers, or prolonged exposure to water.

Will they stain or absorb spills?

Spills wipe right off when cleaned promptly. The smooth coated surface is designed to resist everyday messes from meals, drinks, and snacks.

What are Poppy Mats made from?

Each placemat is made with:

  • A durable MDF core with a smooth, wipeable coated surface
  • A natural cork backing to keep it from sliding and to protect your table

Every material is chosen for durability, function, and style.

Are they safe to use around kids?

Yes. We use environmentally friendly materials and inks that are non-toxic and free from BPA, PVC, and other harmful chemicals. Poppy Mats are designed for everyday family use.

Are they food-safe?

Poppy Mats are designed as placemats to protect your table and make cleanup easy. They are not intended for direct food preparation or cutting, but they’re perfect for plates, bowls, cups, and everyday meals.

How durable are they? Will kids ruin them?

They’re built for real life. With proper care, Poppy Mats can last 1–2 years (often longer) with daily use. They resist heat, moisture, and everyday wear — just be sure to wipe them clean after meals and avoid soaking.

Will they slide around on the table?

No. The cork backing helps keep each placemat securely in place while also protecting your table surface from scratches.

What size are the placemats?

Each placemat measures 15.7 × 11.7 inches and is 0.16 inches thick — a generous size that fits most place settings comfortably.

Do they work with different home styles?

Yes. Poppy Mats are designed with timeless, neutral patterns that work beautifully in modern, farmhouse, and classic homes. They’re meant to look good left out — even when guests come over.

Can I use them every day?

Absolutely. These are made for everyday meals — breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between. Many customers leave them on the table all day.

What if I don’t love them?

We offer a 30-day return policy. Try them at home, risk-free. If they’re not the right fit, simply return them.

Are they a good gift?

Yes! Poppy Mats make thoughtful gifts for new parents, baby showers, housewarmings, and grandparents — practical, beautiful, and something people actually use every day.
